Dominique Joaquine Montgomery, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 9, 2024. Born on December 14, 1987, Dominique lived a life filled with passion, purpose, and an unwavering love for those around him. A proud graduate of C.E. Murray High School’s Class of 2007, he went on to earn his degree from South Carolina State University, graduating Cum Laude in 2012. His pride as an SCSU Bulldog never wavered—he carried his alma mater in his heart, always finding ways to give back and uplift the next generation.
Dominique dedicated his life to education, shaping young minds and leaving an indelible mark on every student he encountered. For over 12 years, he poured his heart into teaching and mentoring within the Orangeburg, Sumter, and Williamsburg County School Districts. As a Family and Consumer Science educator, he not only taught life skills but also instilled confidence, compassion, and resilience in his students. His passion for FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) was evident in the way he guided and inspired countless young people, always leading by example with warmth and encouragement.
Beyond the classroom, Dominique found joy in life’s simple pleasures. His love for wrestling and sports was only rivaled by his gift in the kitchen, where he created meals that nourished both body and soul. Though he rarely shared his beautiful singing voice, those lucky enough to hear it knew it was a glimpse into the depth of his spirit. Dominique had a presence that could fill any room, and his radiant smile had the power to brighten even the darkest days.
To know Dominique was to know kindness, strength, and unwavering generosity. He was a light in the lives of so many, and while his physical presence is no longer with us, his legacy of love and impact will live on forever.
